A star goalkeeper for the Saint Mary’s Huskies has been signed to Halifax’s first professional soccer team.
22-year-old Christian Oxner, who grew up in Clayton Park, is realizing a dream to play with the Halifax Wanderers .
A news release issued February 20 announced the news that Oxner and Sarnia native Alex De Carolis were the latest additions to the team, which is gearing up for the inaugural season of the Canadian Premiere League this April.
"It feels good… I'm getting the chance to represent the city I grew up in so now I can play with freedom and I'm excited," says Oxner.
