In the spirit of the season, ITSS created The Twelve Tweets of Tipmas, putting a techie twist on the classic carol and giving fellow Sanatmarians useful technology tidbits.

The tips were tweeted each weekday from December 5 to 20. Partridges and pear trees were put aside for digital-age offerings such as virus protection, digital security, even free software with Office 365.

Remember this story, when Saint Mary’s ITSS team and partner institutions won a national award for collaboration? It’s taken a heart-warming turn, just in time for the holidays.

The Nova Scotia Higher-Ed IT Shared Services (HISS) decided to donate their $1000 award to Feed Nova Scotia, which also supports the student food bank at Saint Mary’s.

In a thank you letter, Executive Director Nick Jennery noted that the donation will cover 1500 meals worth of food during the holiday season, the busiest time of the year for Feed Nova Scotia.
